Q: Does anyone else have 2010 honda civic problems?
I’m having alot of problems with my new 2010 civic, and I’m trying to see if anyone else is having the same problems. I have brought the car to the dealership several times for repairs..
These are the problems I’m still having:
1. The seat belt locks up ALL the time, sometimes it will release quickly, or it will stay locked for a while. This usually happens when I’m accelerating.
2. Automatic Transmission is very sticky, sometimes it feels like the car is jerking into gear.
Thanks!
A: Nope. Mine has been perfect so far.
Q: I have 5k to drop on mods for my 2010 civic si, what to do?
I have about 5k to put in mods for my 2010 civic, i need suggestions on how to spend all 5k of it. Also explain, what the part does, and how much of a hp increase will i get. Thanks
A: Ok, listen to that previous guy and expect to blow up your car in T-minus 10 seconds. You need to decide what you want to do, before you modify it. A supercharger will work great…if you want a smoke machine. Also, the Civic Si is about 11.1:1 compression, and if you even try to push 10psi through it from anything, S/C, turbo, etc., it will blow up. A complete GReddy turbo kit for your car is about $4400, and will make more power than a supercharger would due to efficiency. Now, with that being said, you would have a high powered turbo front wheel drive that makes a lot of tire smoke, but not much more, and is mediocre handling and stopping. Front wheel drive cars are poor choices for performance, especially in a straight line, so if it were me, I’d spend it where it will do the most good…get a ECU reflash, a good stereo, and another car to modify to go fast. But that’s just me.
Q: How to make my Honda Civic LX 2010 betteR?
So I bought a civic 2010 lx, nothing special. Its a pretty standard car. What are some things for cheap that I can do to make it faster and better?
A: Agree with mike.
All Honda has is reliability and nothing else. Japanese cars have gotten seriously overpriced lately and they dont even offer better warranties. Just “piece of mind”….yea id rather go with gm
A civic si 180 hp fully loaded almost hits the 26k brand new and comes with 3 year warranty
A v6 entry level camero with 300 pony power cost 24 k and 100k mile / 5 year.
What made those companys popular was that they were cheap and reliable, but thats gone now and American (cough cough except for dodge) vehicles give you more for less and as far as reliable than before.
Q: How fast does a 2010 Honda Civic Coupe go?
My new 2010 Honda Civic Coupe has an electric speedometer, so idk how fast it can go. Im a girl i dont know much about these things
A: i was starting at 40 mp/h roll and got to 131 mph until the car just didnt have any more power left to go faster
Q: Where can I go to get a 2010 Honda Civic keyless entry and power lock installation?
I just bought a 2010 Honda Civic without the keyless entry or power locks =/ where can I buy the installation kit, or how do I go about getting this done? thanks =]
A: You can buy the kit for under $100 and is quite simple to do. If you only want power lock, you can do that yourself or have someone do it for around $100.
If you also want an alarm and add power locks to it you can go to Best Buy or most stereo shops can do it as well. But that will cost more money, probably around $350 after installtion.
Q: What would cause my 2010 civic lx-s to die after installing a cold air intake?
Its when im coming to a stop and i throw it in neutral and hit the brakes it dies at about 5 mph. What could cause this?
A: two things, first id say the extra in coming air is trowing off the computer via the mass air flow sensor.
second, to the other guy who answer, yes you can do that with an automatic, you can shift into and out of neutral at almost any speed as long as the motor is on to keep the fluid pumping. ya probly got a 5 speed anyways so whats it matter.
Q: What kind of coilovers should I get for my 2010 Civic SI Sedan?
price range 600-1200 (w/ camberkit included)
price 600-1200 (w/ camber kit included)
i plan on driving basically just normal day stuff. no track. i will take turns harder though, any suggestions?
A: Your own personal preference,.
Q: What is the best possible mpg I can get out of a 2010 civic ex?
What mods. can I do to gain mpg? Only a gas burner not a hybrid car.
A: Keep the car the way it comes from the factory, Check your tire pressure and do not step hard on the gas while taking off from a stop. This will help u with the mpg. I have a customer with a 2009 civic hybrid in the shop right now that lost 14 mpg just because he installed some bling bling rims and tires. The more traction u add the harder the engine works to move those wheels. The bigger the intake system or filters, the more gas the computer will add to keep the mixture right. Hope this helps, Good luck!
Q: how much louder would it be if i put a high flow cat on my 2010 civic si?
my parents have said that if i get a new car i can’t do anything to it at all! i think that’s absurd. any other ’sleeper’ tips would be great!
A: just about anything you do to it will void the warranty. thats why they don’t want you to do anything to it..
but…. just getting a good professional tune will add horses…
fuel injectors can’t be seen, etc…
high flow cat wont help you much, nor will it make it louder… the muffler is what makes it quiet… injectors shouldn’t void the warranty and will add horses… tuning WILL void the warranty unless you get a certain and very specific along side computer. if you overwrite your stock computer it voids it. etc
Q: Is the 2010 Honda civic in the same size class as the 2010 Honda accord?
I am trying to persuade my parents into saving more money by buying a Honda civic. I showed them that the gas mileage is better for the civic. Also the starting price is 6,000 dollars cheaper. The last thing I can do to convince them is the safety. How does the safety compare? Are they even in the same class for size? Please help me convince my parents to buy a civic and not an accord!
A: don’t listen to the first guy, he’s a moron. the Civic is a compact, the Accord is a mid-size. the Civic has cheaper insurance and better gas mileage, it used to be a target for theft 10 years ago but not so much recently. as for safety, it may not be as safe as an Accord, but it will still save you in an accident. I walked away from a head-on collison while driving a 2000 Civic, that should be good enough for anything.
Q: How will the 2010 honda civic coupe be different than the 2009 honda civic coupe?
Should I wait a month to get the 2010 ? ? ? Will I get a much better deal on the 2009 because the 2010 will be on dealer lots soon?
Thanks johnny, but i already picked out the car i want.
A: The 2010 Civic will look nearly identical, there may be some different color options. You might be able to get an ‘09 for a bit less than the ‘10 when they hit dealers. You would get a great deal on a ‘09 or ‘10 next year when the all new 2011 Civic comes out.
Q: What window tints should I get? How much am is it gonna cost? 2010 civic si 4dr fa5?
I have an fa5, what window tint should get? percentages. How much? I live in the state of california,
A: Most states have limits. I live in Washington State and the laws here say you can have 35% on the driver and passenger, 5 percent in the back but only if you have both side mirrors.
Trust me the 35% I had all the way around on my 99 Si was awesome and I didn’t get messed with by the cops.
Q: 2010 civic ex lets me take key out when its not in park?
My key will come out while its in drive or reverse, i had a 2003 civic before this one and it used to not let me take the key out until it was in park. is this a problem?
A: It’s not what I would call a serious problem. Is it normal? No. The ignition interlock is broken on your car and if it is still under warranty you should be able to have it fixed at your local Honda dealer for free.
Q: what kind of coilovers should I get for my 2010 Civic SI Sedan?
price ranger 600-1200 (w/ camber kit included).
mostly casual driving, i’ll be taking turns harder, but nothing too crazy.
A: Honestly, I see two main problems with your question.
1. You aren’t going to be autocrossing the car, or racing the car at all, so why waste so much money on coilovers?
2. Good coilovers that are worth buying cost more than your budget. Cheaper coilovers will bounce and ride harsh. Good coilovers will retain an amicable ride, while improving performance.
Evaluate your wants and needs and why you are modifying the car, then decide if it’s worth it to spend $1000+ for a halfway decent set of coilovers that will have to be rebuilt in 50-60k miles, maybe less.
Q: Can I put a Supercharger or Turbo in my 2010 Civic coupe?
I love my civic, but I wish it was a Little faster. If I can install a Turbo or supercharger, How much extra HP should I get, and How much would it cost? Who sells them?
Thanks, Nathan
A: Yes you can put a turbo kit or supercharger in anything. I would get the turbo kit for more power and they sell for about $3000. You should expect anywhere from 75-100 hp gain. There are many brands but some good ones are Revhard, Turbonetics, GReddy and Drag. I would go with Turbonetics or Rev Hard because you can get more power from them then you would with a GReddy. Also a name brand kit like that should come with everything you need and they do come with intercoolers. Just don’t get some cheap ebay kit for $700 because they will fu*k up your engine. Also make sure you research a lot about turbo kits and what they do and how to take care of them because it’s a lot of work. You also have to get your car tuned and should get a new exhaust also and if you’re not careful you can blow up your engine. So you want to make sure it’s worth it and you are willing to do the work. check out turbokits.com and see which ones they have for your car. Good Luck
